2. Use a wick trimmer to gently snip off the black, charred top of the wick, leaving about 1/4 inch of wick exposed above the wax.

4. Repeat steps 1-4 after each burn to maintain a well-trimmed wick.
5. It is recommended to not burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating.
